Annie and Jon left corporate America to do some world traveling. This blog chronicles their unconventional path and hopefully provides a little inspiration along the way.

rainy season

Annie and I just returned to Phnom Penh after four days visiting the beach town of Sihanoukville. We got some firsthand experience on what the rainy season is all about. It was probably connected to the tropical storm rampaging its way through the Philippines and Vietnam and each day in Sihanoukville was successively wetter.

The benefit of all the rain is to our loyal reading audience since we have been able to get fully up to date with the Daily Details and have several cool things in the pipeline. I was able to put together a fun little video of our bamboo railway experience in Battambang that is up over here

Enjoy the updated content as we finish up our time in Cambodia and gear up for the second round in Thailand. As always, please send us a comment to let us know you are checking things out. This blog takes a lot of time and dedication and we really appreciate hearing from everyone. It keeps us motivated.

hi! i just found your blog through vimeo - in the LX3 group and watched the video "cambodia bamboo train". I'm debating cameras and the LX3 is in my top two - your video quality is amazing and it was a joy watching the video! Can you confirm that this was infact recorded on the LX3? Is that the same camera you are using for the images on your blog? And last question - was that footage straight from the camera or did you do any post processing to get the colour that great?

I've just accepted a year volunteer/work placement in India and am looking for a great compact size camera - this might be it.

I'm glad to have found your blog and look forward to going through the archives and being a reader going forward. You have a great looking blog!

Thanks so much for checking out the blog and videos. The bamboo train was filmed partially on the LX3 and all the video was color graded. I would say the video from this camera is pretty good but the photos are amazing. I am constantly amazed at how it is difficult for me to tell images from the 5D and the LX3 apart except under close inspection. I have seen rumors of an LX5 update arriving in the end of July so you might want to keep an eye out. Good luck and thanks for the message.

Thanks for the info Jon! I'm having a hard time deciding between it and the GF1 (video from that blows me away)...

You've definitely gained a new reader and I've added you to my blog roll :)

Happy travels to you both!

Hey LoveK...love that you are checking out our blog. I don't know much about camera (Jon is the expert) but I love the LX3. It is super easy to use and takes great photos/videos. We got it right before we left just so I could have a camera that I can use without any hassle. Let us know if you start a blog.

Thanks for the feedback Annie! I've read nothing but good things about the LX3....tough decision!

I actually have an existing blog at apartment-412.blogspot.com but I've recently accepted a 1 year volunteer placement in India beginning in Nov. - so I've started a new blog to share those adventures/changes (and hopefully awesome video too!). The new blog is at lovekisha.blogspot.com :)
